The Staff

Gary Ambelas, P.G.
President
NH Licensed Professional Geologist

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Master of Science degree in Geology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Bio: Gary is the founder and owner of ARC Environmental Consultants, Inc. He has extensive experience in performing ASTM Environmental Site Assessments and HUD Environmental Assessments, and storage tank closure assessments. Gary has expertise in the design and implementation of geotechnical studies, and in the planning and supervision of soil and groundwater remediation projects.


Todd Scheffer, P.G.
Project Manager
NH Licensed Professional Geologist

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (with a concentration in Environmental Engineering), University of New Hampshire

Bio: Todd’s areas of expertise include regulatory compliance and the application of innovative technologies to soil and groundwater remediation projects. He is currently performing several studies to test the efficacy of subsurface oxygen-release compound injection as a bioremediation tool. Todd has extensive experience in performing ASTM and HUD Environmental Site Assessments, in performing storage tank closure assessments, and in the planning and supervision of soil and groundwater monitoring and remediation projects.


Jim Zeppieri, P.G.
Project Manager
NH Licensed Professional Geologist

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Washington and Lee University, Master of Science degree in Geology, Duke University

Bio: Jim joined ARC Environmental Consultants, Inc. following a 14-year career with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES). While at the NHDES, Jim served as Project Manager for the State’s Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Corrective Action Program, the EPA Time-Critical Removals Pilot Grant Program, and several Superfund (CERCLA) hazardous waste sites throughout New Hampshire. Jim’s areas of expertise include soil vapor studies near existing landfills and hydrogeologic investigations.


Andy Robichaud
Environmental Scientist

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Water Resource Management, University of New Hampshire

Bio: Andy is our field services technician and is responsible for the collection of environmental samples. Andy is well versed in EPA environmental sampling protocols, and joined ARC with a background in wastewater treatment. He currently oversees more than a dozen petroleum and hazardous waste contaminated sites throughout New Hampshire regulated under NHDES Groundwater Management Permits.
